8-BALL had gotten double booked which had them in Nago so they had to cancel. Still the party must go on! We also gave out a sampler CDR as a Christmas present to the customers, it has a song from 16 BIT's new CDEP, a song from FOOVER's new CDEP, and two new songs from both SASPIRILLA and SELFISH GENE.

First up was SPILITUS, originally Kokusho (vocals/guitar) was going to play solo but I guess he was able to talk the bass player into playing a Christmas gig. Melodic punk metal with some kick ass guitar riffs, think on the lines of COWPERS.

Next up was 16-BIT who have changed quite a bit since earlier in the year when they played one of our "Your In Love And I'm In Trouble" events. They've slowed down and added violin into their indie rock sound but tonight they stripped down even further and played an acoustic set. Sounded good, however they did take a long time setting up which I guess ticked off some of the 7th Heaven staff.

SELFISH GENE who just recently recorded their first song under the name SELFISH GENE (Even though "Change With Time" was meant to be a SELFISH GENE song it was recorded once by Yutaka solo and then later on with CRACKPIPE). Not bad, they still need to tighten some screws but it is good to see Yutaka back in the singer/songwriter position. They sure do love THE PIXIES, SONIC YOUTH, and of course THE VELVET UNDERGROUND.

SASPIRILLA blasted through a set of noisy distorted punk rock-n-roll. They're not there yet but they're getting close, I believe they need more backing vocals from Kazuro.

GUN-FOAD - the self proclaiming West Coast pop punk sound from Okinawa and well that sounds accurate to me. They closed the night with an energetic set that had some of the kids dancing. Watch out for these guys, this island may be getting too small for them.
